Regular Season Round 21: Baerum Basket - Gimle BBK 95-106

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bekkestua. Third ranked Gimle BBK faced 4th placed Baerum Basket. Guests from Bergen (14-5) defeated host Baerum Basket (12-7) 106-95. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Baerum Basket. The game was mostly controlled by Gimle BBK. Baerum Basket managed to win second period 29-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Gimle BBK had a 32-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Baerum Basket helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was guard Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 21 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). American swingman Joshua Hart (198-90, college: Va Intermont) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Tellef Lundevall (193, college: Brown) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and Johannes Dolven (200-96) added 20 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Four Gimle BBK and five Baerum Basket players scored in double figures. Gimle BBK have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Asker Aliens. Baerum Basket at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Gimle BBK is looking forward to face Asker Aliens (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Baerum Basket will play against Froya Basket in Laksevag and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
