There was an upset when higher ranked Battipaglia (9-12) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Orvieto (5-15) 73-68 on Sunday. Battipaglia was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 16-6 charge of Orvieto, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Battipaglia to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Orvieto made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Kirby Burkholder (183, college: JMU, agency: LBM Management) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Center Emilia Bove (185-88, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Brooque Williams (175-89, college: California, PA, agency: Two Points) who recorded 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Dutch Kourtney Treffers (187-94, agency: Court Side) added 15 points and 11 rebounds respectively.
