Regular Season Round 40: Shinshu BW - Akita NH 81-109

Very expected game in Nagano where 7th ranked Shinshu BW (15-21) was crushed by second ranked Akita Happinets (30-8) 109-81 on Sunday. The game without a history. Akita Happinets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Akita Happinets outrebounded Shinshu BW 42-24 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Richard Roby (198-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 17 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Travon Bryant (206-83, college: Missouri) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) responded with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Akita Happinets and four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Akita Happinets maintains second position with 30-8 record behind leader Okinawa GK. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the seventh place with 21 games lost. Akita Happinets will face Yokohama BC (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shinshu BW will play against Saitama Broncos and hope to win that game.
