Regular Season Round 36: Tsukuba R. - Mitsubishi DD 50-90

Date: March 1, 2015
The game in Tsukuba supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (22-12) played at the court of 7th ranked Tsukuba R. (3-33). Mitsubishi Dolphins smashed Tsukuba R. 90-50 on Sunday. The winners were led by American forward Brendan Lane (206-90, college: Pepperdine) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds and guard Taito Nakahigashi (190-92) supported him with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Five Mitsubishi Dolphins players scored in double figures. Even 22 points by American forward Duke Crews (203-88, college: Bowie St.) did not help to save the game for Tsukuba R.. His fellow American import power forward Justin Reynolds (206-88, college: Texas A&M-CC) added 8 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mitsubishi Dolphins maintains second position with 22-12 record having nine points less than leader Hitachi SR. Tsukuba R. lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 33 games lost. Mitsubishi Dolphins will meet at home league's second-placed Tochigi Brex in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tsukuba R. will play against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses (#1) in Kariya and hope to secure a win.
