Regular Season Round 40: Fukushima - Yokohama BC 80-98
Date: March 1, 2015
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when tenth ranked Yokohama BC (10-26) won against on the road 9th ranked Fukushima (12-26) 98-80 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Yokohama BC. Fukushima was better in fourth quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game, while Fukushima only scored two points from the stripe. They outrebounded Fukushima 49-27 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Carl Hall (201-89, college: Wichita St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Warren Niles (196-89, college: ORU, agency: KMG Sports Management) who added 15 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Yokohama BC's coach Michael Katsuhisa used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Masaya Karimata (178-88) scored 16 points and 6 assists. Yokohama BC maintains tenth position with 10-26 record. Fukushima lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with 26 games lost. Yokohama BC will face league's second-placed Akita Happinets on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
