Second Stage Round 13: Gorizont II - RGUOR 62-55

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Minsk: Gorizont II (#6) and RGUOR (#5). Gorizont II (9-16) won against visiting RGUOR (15-11) 62-55. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of RGUOR. It looked good early as RGUOR took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gorizont II had a 29-5 second period charge getting the lead and RGUOR was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 55-62. They dominated on the defensive end, holding RGUOR to just 5 points in second quarter. Strangely RGUOR outrebounded Gorizont II 44-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. Forward Galina Shylovich (182-91) stepped up and scored 28 points for the winners and guard Volha Gromik (180-93) chipped in 6 points and 14 rebounds. At the losing side center Hanna Brych (183-97) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and center Ekaterina Karchevskaya (183-98) scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. Newly promoted Gorizont II maintains sixth place with 9-16 record. RGUOR at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost.
