Everything went according to plan when third ranked Umana Venezia (15-5) defeated at home 5th ranked Enel Brindisi (11-9) 76-71. Enel Brindisi was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 20-9 charge of Umana Venezia, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Julyan Stone (198-88, college: UTEP) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Croatian forward Hrvoje Peric (203-85) who added 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Central African-American power forward James Mays (206-86, college: Clemson) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Marcus Denmon (191-90, college: Missouri) scored 18 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Umana Venezia moved-up to second place. Enel Brindisi at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Dolomiti En. TR and Granarolo BO. Umana Venezia will play against Granarolo BO (#6) in Bologna in the next round.
