There was no surprise in Mikawa where 5th ranked Osaka Evessa (22-16) was defeated by second ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (32-6) 74-65 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 29-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) who helped to win the game recording 23 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon) who added 20 points during the contest. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach Tomoya Higashino used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Joshua Dollard (203-86, college: USC Aiken) responded with 28 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL, agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 9 points and 15 rebounds. Hamamatsu Phoenix have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Okinawa GK and Kyoto Hannar. Loser Osaka Evessa keeps the fifth place with 16 games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will face Kyoto Hannar. (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Osaka Evessa will play against the league's leader Okinawa GK and hope to win that game.
