Regular Season Round 20: Vanoli CR - JuveCaserta 81-77
Date: March 1, 2015
Very predictable result when eighth ranked Vanoli Cremona (10-10) won against at home bottom-ranked Juvecaserta (4-16) 81-77. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Vanoli Cremona made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Juvecaserta turnovers and outrebounded them 49-34 including a 23-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Juvecaserta was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Luca Vitali (201-86) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and American swingman James Bell (198-92, college: Villanova) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Vanoli Cremona players scored in double figures. American-Bosnian guard Henry Domercant (194-80, college: E.Illinois) responded with 24 points and American forward Carleton Scott (203-88, college: Notre Dame) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Vanoli Cremona maintains eighth position with 10-10 record. Juvecaserta at the other side stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Vanoli Cremona will play against higher ranked Enel Brindisi (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Juvecaserta will play against Upea CdO (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
