The most exciting game of round 24 in the A2 Gold took place in Agrigento. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 7th ranked Agrigento (12-11) to eighth ranked Trieste (13-11) 89-87 in the game for the seventh place. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Agrigento. The guests trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 2 points. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds and international Stefano Tonut (194-93) who added 21 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Pendarvis Williams (198-91, college: Norfolk St.) with 17 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Alessandro Piazza (174-87) scored 13 points and 8 assists. Four Trieste and five Agrigento players scored in double figures. Trieste moved-up to seventh place. Newly promoted Agrigento dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Trieste are looking forward to face higher ranked Manital Torino (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Agrigento will play against Angelico Biella (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
