Regular Season Round 21: Maccabi T-A - Maccabi Ashdod 84-81

Eleventh-ranked Maccabi Ashdod (6-15) was very close to win a game against first ranked Maccabi T-A (19-2) in Tel-Aviv on Monday. Maccabi T-A managed to secure only three-point victory 84-81. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Maccabi Ashdod. Maccabi T-A looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 assists. The former international point guard Yogev Ohayon (189-87) contributed with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Five Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A's coach Guy Goodes used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward James Nunnally (201-90, college: UCSB) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (200-90, college: Murray St., agency: Comsport) added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi Ashdod. Maccabi T-A have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 19-2 record. Maccabi Ashdod at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Maccabi T-A are looking forward to face Maccabi Rishon (#3) in Rishon Le-Zion in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Maccabi Ashdod will play at home against Bnei Hasharon (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
