Not a big story in a game in Tarshicha where 9th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (8-12) was defeated by third ranked Hapoel Migd.H. (14-6) 90-83 on Tuesday. Ironi Ashkelon trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 25-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 83-90 at the end of the game. Hapoel Migd.H. made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Hapoel Migd.H. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Ziv Ben-Zvi (183-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. Hapoel Migd.H.'s coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Wendell McKines (198-88, college: N.Mexico St.) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and Dudu Shamriz (191-91) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Migd.H. maintains third position with 14-6 record behind leader Ironi K-A. Ironi Ashkelon lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Hapoel K/S and Maccabi H/H. Hapoel Migd.H. will meet Maccabi Raanana (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ironi Ashkelon will play against Elitzur Ramla (#14) and hope to secure a win.
