Regular Season Round 21: Artego Bydg. - Wisla Krakow 68-90

The game between Top Four teams took place in Bydgoszcz. Second-best host Artego Bydg. (17-4) was smashed by leader Wisla Krakow (21-0) 90-68. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Artego Bydg.. The game was mostly controlled by Wisla Krakow. Artego Bydg. managed to win fourth quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Wisla Krakow dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Artego Bydg.'s 32. They outrebounded Artego Bydg. 35-23 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Wisla Krakow looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Artego Bydg.'s players. American center Jantel Lavender (191-88, college: Ohio St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and Hungarian-American guard Allie Quigley (178-86, college: De Paul) chipped in 17 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). The best for the losing side was American Amisha Carter (186-82, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Josep and Nicolas) with 16 points and 6 rebounds and international center Martyna Koc (186-83, agency: Promotex) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wisla Krakow have an impressive series of twenty one victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 21-0 record. Artego Bydg. at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Wisla Krakow are looking forward to face CCC Polkowice (#4) at home in the next round. Artego Bydg. will play against Sleza Wroclaw and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
