Regular Season Round 21: CCC Polkowice - Widzew 70-45

Very predictable result when fourth ranked CCC Polkowice (14-6) smashed at home bottom-ranked Widzew (3-18) 70-45 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by CCC Polkowice. Widzew managed to win second period 19-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Widzew to just 2 points in third quarter and to 14 points in second half. CCC Polkowice forced 27 Widzew turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Ketia Swanier (170-86, college: Connecticut) who scored 10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. International point guard Dominika Owczarzak (168-94) chipped in 4 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Sarah Boothe (195-90, college: Stanford) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Cecilia Okoye (185, college: McNeese St.) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for CCC Polkowice. They maintain fourth place with 14-6 record. Widzew lost their eleventh game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. CCC Polkowice will meet league's leader Wisla Krakow on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Widzew will play against Gdynia (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
