The game between third ranked Haukar (12-8) and 10th ranked IR (5-15) in Hafnarfjordur ended with biggest points difference. Haukar outscored guests from Reykjavik 89-65. The game was mostly controlled by Haukar. IR was better in fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Haukar forced 24 IR turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Alex Francis (198-91, college: Bryant, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Emil Barja (192-91) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds, 15 assists and 5 blocks. Four Haukar players scored in double figures. American-Jamaican forward Trey Hampton (203-87, college: Georgia St.) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and forward Vilhjalmur Jonsson (198-91) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Haukar have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 12-8 record having six points less than leader KR, which they share with Njardvik. IR at the other side keeps the tenth place with 15 games lost. Haukar's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Tindastoll in Sauoarkrokur and it will be for sure the game of the week. IR will play at home against Skallagrimur (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
