Regular Season Round 20: Skallagrimur - Njardvik 96-108

Very expected game when 12th ranked Skallagrimur (4-16) lost to fifth ranked Njardvik (12-8) in Borgarnes 96-108. The game was mostly controlled by Njardvik. Skallagrimur was better in second period 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 27-of-34 charity shots (79.4 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Skallagrimur helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard Stefan Bonneau (177-87, college: LIU Post) who scored 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international Logi Gunnarsson (190-81) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. point guard Arnar Bjornsson (180-93) produced 23 points and 6 assists and the former international swingman Pall Axel Vilbergsson (197-78) added 24 points respectively for the hosts. Five Njardvik and four Skallagrimur players scored in double figures. Njardvik moved-up to third place, which they share with Haukar. Skallagrimur at the other side stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Njardvik's next round opponent will be Stjarnan (#5) at home. Skallagrimur will play against IR (#10) in Reykjavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
