Regular Season Round 19: Breidablik - KFI 100-75

The game between sixth ranked Breidablik (6-12) and 7th ranked KFI (3-13) in Kopavogur ended with biggest points difference. Breidablik outscored guests from Isafjordur 100-75. The game without a history. Breidablik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. American Jerry Hollis (198-87, college: Johnson C. Smith, agency: Sherman International) fired 28 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Runar Ingi Erlingsson (187-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists. Four Breidablik players scored in double figures. Serbian swingman Nebojsa Knezevic (196-87) produced 32 points and 6 rebounds and center Birgir Petursson (205-86) added 16 points and 15 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Breidablik maintains sixth place with 6-12 record. KFI lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. Breidablik's next round opponent will be league's leader Hottur in Egilsstadir and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KFI will play on the road against Valur (#4) in Reykjavik and hope to win that game.
