Regular Season Round 19: Hottur - FSU 94-86
Date: March 6, 2015
An interesting game for Hottur (16-4) which hosted in Egilsstadir their biggest opponent FSU (12-6). First ranked Hottur managed to get a 8-point victory 94-86. FSU was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 28-12 third quarter run of Hottur. They made 27-of-32 charity shots (84.4 percent) during the game. Hottur outrebounded FSU 44-33 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. FSU was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Swingman Vidar Orn Hafsteinsson (190-85) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American forward Collin Pryor (198, college: Northern St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) responded with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and point guard Ari Gylfason (186-89) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. FSU's coach tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Hottur maintains first place with 16-4 record. FSU at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Hottur will play against Breidablik (#6) in Kopavogur in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. FSU will play at home against IA (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
