Regular Season Round 41: Okinawa GK - Osaka Evessa 75-73

Fifth-ranked Osaka Evessa (22-17) made lots of trouble for first ranked Okinawa GK (33-6). Okinawa GK managed to secure only two-point victory 75-73. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-16. But Osaka Evessa won second period 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Osaka Evessa outrebounded Okinawa GK 33-19 including 20 on the defensive glass. American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Kibwe Trim (208-84, college: Sacred Heart) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Okinawa GK's coach Tsutomu Isa allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Joshua Dollard (203-86, college: USC Aiken) answered with 30 points and the other American import power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL, agency: KMG Sports Management) added 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Osaka Evessa. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Okinawa GK. They maintain first place with 33-6 record, which they share with Kyoto Hannar. Osaka Evessa lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 17 games lost. Okinawa GK will again play against Osaka Evessa (#5) at home in the next round. Osaka Evessa will have a break next round.
