Very expected game when 15th ranked Cognac BB (8-17) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Saint Vallier (17-8) 96-77 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Saint Vallier. Cognac BB was better in second period 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Saint Vallier dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Cognac BB's 26. Saint Vallier forced 25 Cognac BB turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Quite impressive performance for American power forward Kurt Cunningham (205-87, college: Boise St.) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Harry Disy (200-84, college: Louisiana Tech) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Saint Vallier's coach Jean-Sebastien Chardon used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Serbian forward Dejan Sencanski (198-84, college: Abil.Christian) answered with 19 points and American guard Hugh Robertson (195-89, college: S.Florida) added 18 points in the effort for Cognac BB. Saint Vallier have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 17-8 record. Cognac BB lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Saint Vallier will face bottom-ranked CFBB (#16) in Paris in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cognac BB will play at home against Sorgues BC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
