Regular Season Round 21: Gernika - Cadi La Seu 64-67

The most exciting game of round 21 in the LFB took place in Gernika. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Gernika (12-9) to fourth ranked Cadi La Seu (14-7) 67-64 in the game for the fourth place. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was international center Laura Gil (190-92, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who scored 9 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. American-Nigerian Ndidi Madu (185-89, college: Florida, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American center Britany Miller (193-87, college: Florida St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) who recorded 26 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import Bernice Mosby (186-84, college: Baylor, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Gernika's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cadi La Seu maintains fourth place with 14-7 record. Newly promoted Gernika keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Bembibre. Cadi La Seu are looking forward to face higher ranked Conquero (#3) in Huelva in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gernika will play on the road against Al-Qazeres in Caceres and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
