Regular Season Round 37: Mitsubishi DD - Tochigi Brex 70-88

Date: March 7, 2015
The game between Top Four teams took place in Nagoya. Much higher ranked host Mitsubishi Dolphins (22-13) lost to second ranked Tochigi Brex (28-9) 88-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mitsubishi Dolphins. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-70. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) fired a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import guard Tommy Brenton (196-89, college: Stony Brook) chipped in 6 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Tochigi Brex's coach Thomas Wisman used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) produced 23 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Takumi Ishizaki (188-84) added 10 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Tochigi Brex. They maintain second place with 28-9 record having just two points less than leader Hitachi SR which they share with defeated Mitsubishi Dolphins. Loser Mitsubishi Dolphins keep the second position with 13 games lost. Tochigi Brex will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play again against the league's second-placed Tochigi Brex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
