Regular Season Round 41: Saitama Bron. - Shinshu BW 75-91

Very expected game when 12th ranked Saitama Broncos (4-33) were defeated at home by eighth ranked Shinshu BW (16-21) 91-75 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 53-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Shinshu BW made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Shinshu BW outrebounded Saitama Broncos 52-26 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) who scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Shinshu BW's coach Ryuji Kawai used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Gary Johnson (198-91, college: Albany) produced 18 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and guard Janya Masumoto (183-88) added 20 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Shinshu BW and five Saitama Broncos players scored in double figures. Shinshu BW moved-up to seventh place. Saitama Broncos lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 33 games lost. Shinshu BW will have a break next round. Saitama Broncos will play again at home against Shinshu BW (#7) and hope to win that game.
