Regular Season Round 41: Bambitious Nara - Oita H.Devils 85-90

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Bambitious Nara (10-29) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Oita Heat Devils (15-24) 90-85 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 53-46 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Oita Heat Devils outrebounded Bambitious Nara 45-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Oita Heat Devils especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Kellen Thornton (201-88, college: Tennessee St., agency: David Lee services) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds. Center Todd O'Brien (213-89, college: UAB) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) added 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Oita Heat Devils and four Bambitious Nara players scored in double figures. Oita Heat Devils maintains sixth place with 15-24 record. Bambitious Nara lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 29 games lost. Oita Heat Devils will have a break next round. Bambitious Nara will play again at home against Oita Heat Devils (#6) and hope to win that game.
