Regular Season Round 23: Poitiers - Denain 77-55

An interesting game took place in Poitiers where higher ranked Denain Voltaire (13-10) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked Poitiers (10-13) 77-55. The game without a history. Poitiers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Poitiers forced 20 Denain Voltaire turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Kevin Harley (192-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Point guard Carl Ona-Embo (185-89) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Poitiers moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with St Quentin and Fos Ouest. Denain Voltaire lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost. Poitiers' next round opponent will be higher ranked ALM Evreux (#10) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
