Very expected game when 8th ranked Ribola Kastela (7-11) lost to third ranked Kvarner (12-6) in Rijeka 72-90. The game was mostly controlled by Kvarner. Ribola Kastela was better in second period 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ribola Kastela was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Sime Olivari (201-90) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and guard Mauro Veljacic (183-93) who added 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Kvarner players scored in double figures. Forward Dino Sipic (201-88) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Nikola Dosen (190-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kvarner maintains third position with 12-6 record having just two points less than leader GKK Sibenik, which they share with Zabok. Ribola Kastela lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Gorica. Kvarner will play against KK Split (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ribola Kastela will play against Vrijednosnice OS and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
