Regular Season Round 41: Sendai 89ers - Fukushima 107-67

The game with biggest result difference took place in Sendai. Local Sendai 89ers (25-14) outscored 9th ranked Fukushima (12-27) 107-67 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 20-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 107-67. Sendai 89ers shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Fukushima's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: KMG Sports Management) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Sendai 89ers' coach Shuto Kawachi felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 20 rebounds and point guard Masaya Karimata (178-88) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sendai 89ers. They maintain fourth place with 25-14 record, which they share with Niigata Albirex. Fukushima lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 27 games lost. Sendai 89ers will face again Fukushima (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
