Regular Season Round 24: Clinicas Rincon - Breogan 73-80

LEB Gold top team - Leche Rio Breogan (17-6) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifteenth ranked Clinicas Rincon (4-18) in Malaga 80-73. Clinicas Rincon was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Leche Rio Breogan brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Clinicas Rincon was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of American center Gary McGhee (210-88, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Senegalese power forward Mamadou Samb (210-89) who added 17 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Alfonso Sanchez (198-87) with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward Ricardo Guillen (207-76, agency: Duran International) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Leche Rio Breogan have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-6 record. Clinicas Rincon lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 18 games lost. Leche Rio Breogan will play against Palencia Baloncesto (#4) at home in the next round. Clinicas Rincon will play against Ourense (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
