Regular Season Round 17: Celta Selmark - Ourense P. 65-53

Bottom-ranked Pabellon Ourense (0-17) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 65-53 loss to fifth ranked Real Celta Vigo (11-6) in Vigo on Saturday evening. Real Celta Vigo outrebounded Pabellon Ourense 55-27 including a 27-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Maria Perez Araujo (184-97) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Marta Canella (178-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Center Meritxell Bellido (183-85) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Andrea Rios (187-91) added 10 points respectively for the guests. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Real Celta Vigo. They maintain fifth place with 11-6 record, which they share with Aros Leon and Dist.Olimpico. Pabellon Ourense lost their seventeenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 17 games lost. Real Celta Vigo will face league's second-placed GDKO Bizkaia in Galdakao in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pabellon Ourense will play at home against Arxil Pontevedra (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
