Leader Perfumerias Avenida delivered the nineteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 9th ranked Gipuzkoa UPV (8-13) 89-53 in San Sebastian. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gipuzkoa UPV. The game without a history. Perfumerias Avenida led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Perfumerias Avenida outrebounded Gipuzkoa UPV 34-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Perfumerias Avenida especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Paraguayan-Italian swingman Paola Ferrari (178-85, agency: Josep and Nicolas) stepped up and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and the former international swingman Marta Fernandez (178-81) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Perfumerias Avenida players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Lenita Sanford (190-89, college: UNLV) with 12 points and 8 rebounds and center Miriam Foraste (190-91, agency: Regeneracom Sports) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Perfumerias Avenida (19-2) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place. Loser Gipuzkoa UPV keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost.
