There was no surprise in Aviles where 11th ranked Universidad de Valladolid (2-15) was defeated by ninth ranked ADBA (6-11) 68-64 on Saturday. Universidad de Valladolid trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 24-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 64-68 at the end of the game. ADBA outrebounded Universidad de Valladolid 44-18 including a 34-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Lara Fernandez (179-87) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Anna Boleda (181-81) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four ADBA players scored in double figures. ADBA's coach Yolanda Mijares used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. point guard Cristina Salinas (162-93) produced 11 points and 5 rebounds and center Noelia Pariente (183-96) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. ADBA maintains ninth place with 6-11 record. Universidad de Valladolid lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 15 games lost. ADBA will face higher ranked Cortegada (#3) in Vilagarcia Arousa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Universidad de Valladolid will play at home against Oviedo (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
