Second Stage Round 2: Moutahed - Al Riyadi 79-87

An interesting game for Al Riyadi (15-1) which played road game in Tripoli against Al Moutahed (6-10). Al Riyadi managed to get a 8-point victory 87-79. The guests were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 21-16 Al Moutahed's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 87-79 at the end of the game. Al Riyadi made 27-of-32 charity shots (84.4 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by Al Moutahed helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) who scored 27 points and 6 rebounds. American-FYR Macedonian forward Jeremiah Massey (202-82, college: Kansas St.) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Four Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. American guard Dewarick Spencer (193-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and the former international power forward Charles Tabet (205-87, college: S.Alabama) added 17 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Al Riyadi's next round opponent will be UBA in Byblos and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al Moutahed will play at home against Homenetm. B and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
