Regular Season Round 42: Okinawa GK - Osaka Evessa 69-72 OT

Second-best Okinawa GK (33-7) fell to fifth ranked Osaka Evessa (23-17) in overtime by three points 69-72 on Sunday night. The game took place in Okinawa. But the guests from Osaka were better at the end. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Okinawa GK. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 17-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 9-6. It was a good game for American forward Joshua Dollard (203-86, college: USC Aiken) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import swingman Seth Tarver (196-88, college: Oregon St., agency: Interperformances) contributed with 9 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Trinidad and Tobago power forward Kibwe Trim (208-84, college: Sacred Heart) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Okinawa GK. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Osaka Evessa maintains fifth position with 23-17 record. Okinawa GK at the other side still keeps top place with seven games lost. Osaka Evessa will face higher ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (#3) in Mikawa in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Okinawa GK will play at home against Takamatsu FA and hope to win that game.
