Bottom-ranked Widzew managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the eleven-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time they won against eleventh-ranked Gdynia in Lodz 66-59. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-19. But Gdynia won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Widzew won last quarter 12-7. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gdynia to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Gdynia 45-31 including 29 on the offensive glass. American forward Cecilia Okoye (185, college: McNeese St.) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The other American import power forward Sarah Boothe (195-90, college: Stanford) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Tiffany Brown (165-86, college: Georgia South) produced 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Dominika Miloszewska (190-94) added 21 points respectively for lost side. Widzew (4-18) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with defeated Gdynia. Gdynia lost fifth consecutive game.
