Date: March 8, 2015
Leader Aishin Sea Horses delivered the 32th victory. This time they crushed 7th ranked Tsukuba R. (3-35) 88-64 in Kariya. It looked good early as Tsukuba R. took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Aishin Sea Horses had a 22-6 second period charge getting the lead and Tsukuba R. was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-88. Aishin Sea Horses dominated on the defensive end, holding Tsukuba R. to just 6 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Tsukuba R.'s 22. Aishin Sea Horses players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Tsukuba R.'s players. International swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) notched 26 points to lead the effort and American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) supported him with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Even 25 points and 9 rebounds by American power forward Justin Reynolds (206-88, college: Texas A&M-CC) did not help to save the game for Tsukuba R.. The former international forward Daisuke Noguchi (196-83) added 10 points for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Aishin Sea Horses have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 32-5 record. Tsukuba R. lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 35 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Tochigi Brex on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tsukuba R. will play against Dragonflies (#3) and hope to win that game.
