Regular Season Round 19: Panathinaikos - PAOK 83-69

An interesting game for Panathinaikos (17-2) which hosted in Athens 3rd placed PAOK (13-6). Second ranked Panathinaikos managed to get a 14-point victory 83-69. Panathinaikos players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. PAOK was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for international forward Vladimir Jankovic (202-90, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 5 assists. The former international Nikos Pappas (194-90) helped adding 12 points and 6 assists. At the losing side American swingman Marc Antonio Carter (191-85, college: NC-Wilmington) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import power forward Kevin Langford (204-85, college: TCU) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panathinaikos have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 17-2 record behind leader Olympiacos. PAOK at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Aris. Panathinaikos will play against KAOD (#10) in Dramas in the next round and are hoping to win another game. PAOK will play at home against the league's leader Olympiacos (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
