Regular Season Round 30: Fujitsu RW - JX-Eneos S. 77-83 OT

Fujitsu RW (#2) forced the game against JX-Eneos S. (#1) into an overtime, but lost by six points 77-83 on Sunday night. The game took place in Kawasaki. But the guests from Kashiwa were better at the end. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Fujitsu RW. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime then Fujitsu RW managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was JX-Eneos S. who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 14-8. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Fujitsu RW's 36. They outrebounded Fujitsu RW 54-31 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 16 rebounds. The former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. International forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and international point guard Rui Machida (161-93) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Fujitsu RW. Five Fujitsu RW players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first position with 24-4 record. Fujitsu RW at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. JX-Eneos S. will face Toyota A. (#4) in Nagoya in the next round. Fujitsu RW will play at home against Mitsubishi K. and hope to win that game.
