Very expected game when 15th ranked VL Pesaro (6-15) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Banco di Srd (15-6) 75-71. It looked good early as VL Pesaro took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Banco di Srd had a 18-11 second period charge getting the lead and VL Pesaro was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-75. Banco di Srd forced 19 VL Pesaro turnovers. VL Pesaro was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Nigerian-American power forward Olaseni Lawal (208-86, college: Wayne St., MI, agency: Three Eye Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American guard Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) accounted for 17 points. Lawal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Banco di Srd's coach Romeo Sacchetti allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Wally Judge (206-90, college: Rutgers) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the other American import point guard Chris Wright (185-89, college: Georgetown) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for VL Pesaro in the defeat. Banco di Srd have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Grissin Bon RE. VL Pesaro at the other side keeps the fifteenth position with 15 games lost. Banco di Srd will play against Air Avellino (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. VL Pesaro will play against Upea CdO (#12) in Capo d'Orlando and hopes to get back on the winning track.
