Regular Season Round 19: Olympiacos - AGOR 80-60

A1 top team - Olympiacos (18-1) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed sixth ranked AGOR (9-10) in Athens 80-60. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-60. Olympiacos looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by AGOR's players. It was a quality performance for international guard Konstantinos Sloukas (197-90) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 assists. Liberian-American power forward Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee services) accounted for 6 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Dutch power forward Roeland Schaftenaar (211-88, college: Oregon St.) came up with 9 points and 11 rebounds and Senegalese forward Mouhammad Faye (208-85, college: SMU) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively for AGOR in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the eighteenth consecutive win for Olympiacos. They maintain first place with 18-1 record. Loser AGOR keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Apollon Patras and Kolossos. Olympiacos will meet PAOK (#4) in the next round. AGOR will play against Panelefsiniakos and hope to secure a win.
