Regular Season Round 21: Elitzur Yavne - Hapoel Kazrin 88-100

The biggest surprise of round 21 was guest Hapoel Kazrin's (#6) road victory over Elitzur Yavne (#8) 100-88 on Tuesday evening. They outrebounded Elitzur Yavne 45-26 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hapoel Kazrin looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Coty Clarke (201-92, college: Arkansas) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds. Naturalized Russian power forward Anton Kazarnovski (205-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Naor Sharon (193-95) who recorded 22 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and Igor Mayor (198-93) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Elitzur Yavne players scored in double figures. Elitzur Yavne's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hapoel Kazrin have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 12-9 record. Elitzur Yavne at the other side dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Ironi Ramat Gan. Hapoel Kazrin are looking forward to face Ironi Ashkelon (#10) on the road in the next round. Elitzur Yavne will play against the league's leader Ironi Kiryat Ata and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
