Regular Season Round 15: Panteras - Cocodrilos 73-74

Ninth-ranked Panteras (2-10) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Cocodrilos (9-3) in Caracas on Tuesday. The visitors managed to secure only one-point victory 74-73. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 22-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Carl Elliott (193-83, college: G.Washington) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Kristoffer Lang (211-79, college: N.Carolina) accounted for 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Cocodrilos' coach Nestor Salazar used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international swingman Jorge Rondon (193-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Morris Sierralta (190-87) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Panteras in the defeat. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. Cocodrilos have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Bucaneros. Loser Panteras keep the ninth place with ten games lost. Cocodrilos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena .
