Regular Season Round 21: Arras - Landes 57-62

The biggest surprise of round 21 was guest Basket Landes' (#4) road victory over Arras (#5) 62-57 on Tuesday evening. Arras trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 16-10 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 57-62 at the end of the game. Basket Landes dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Arras' 22. The best player for the winners was American forward Danielle Page (188-86, college: Nebraska) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Latvian forward Gunta Basko-Melnbarde (181-80, college: Siena, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Basket Landes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Maggie Lucas (178-91, college: Penn St.) who recorded 25 points and 7 rebounds and Mali center Djene Diawara (192-85, agency: Comsport) added 9 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Basket Landes maintains fourth place with 14-7 record. Arras lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Angers. Basket Landes are looking forward to face Lyon (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Arras will play against Flammes Carolo (#9) in Charleville and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
