Very expected game when 11th ranked Chalons-Reims (11-12) was defeated on the road by third ranked Limoges CSP Elite (16-7) 77-65 on Tuesday. Chalons-Reims was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 28-15 charge of Limoges CSP Elite, which allowed them to win the game. Limoges CSP Elite outrebounded Chalons-Reims 44-32 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international forward Adrien Moerman (203-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. International forward Nobel Boungou-Colo (202-88) helped adding 15 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Michel Morandais (196-79, college: Colorado) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and center Garry Florimont (203-87) scored 16 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Chalons-Reims' coach Nikola Antic let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Defending champion maintains third place with 16-7 record having four points less than leader Strasbourg. Newly promoted Chalons-Reims keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Limoges CSP Elite will face JDA Dijon (#4) on the road in the next round. Chalons-Reims will play against Gravelines-Dunkerque (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
