Regular Season Round 26: Keflavik - KR 85-77

Very expected game when 7th ranked KR (4-20) lost on the road to second ranked Keflavik (19-5) 85-77. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KR won third quarter 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Keflavik won last quarter 30-24. They made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Center Sandra Lind Thrastardottir (172-96) had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Sara Run Hinriksdottir (165-96) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Keflavik players scored in double figures. Keflavik's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Bjorg Einarsdottir (162-92) responded with 27 points and 4 assists and Simone Holmes scored 19 points and 6 assists. Keflavik maintains second position with 19-5 record having just one point less than leader Snaefell. KR lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 20 games lost. Keflavik will play against league's leader Snaefell in Stykkisholmur in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. KR will play at home against Grindavik (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
