Regular Season Round 26: Grindavik - Haukar 69-80

The most important game in the last round took place in Grindavik between third ranked Grindavik (15-8) and fifth ranked Haukar (13-9) on Wednesday night. Grindavik was defeated by Haukar at home 69-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Grindavik. The guests trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 34-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American swingman Kristina King (178, college: Richmond) replied with 22 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Petrunella Skuladottir (177-85) added 12 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Grindavik. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Haukar maintains fifth position with 13-9 record. Grindavik at the other side keeps the third place with eight games lost. Haukar are looking forward to face Hamar (#6) at home in the next round. Grindavik will play against KR in Reykjavik and is hoping to win this game.
