Rather expected game in Sao Paulo where 10th ranked Palmeiras (11-15) was defeated by eighth ranked Pinheiros (12-13) 74-67 on Friday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 7 points. The former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-79) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Marcus Vinicius Toledo (201-86) chipped in 12 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Pinheiros players scored in double figures. Italian-Argentinian point guard Maximiliano Stanic (178-78, agency: Players Group) responded with 23 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and American power forward Steven Toyloy (203-87, college: Cincinnati) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pinheiros maintains eighth position with 12-13 record. Palmeiras lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 15 games lost. Pinheiros will face league's leader Paschoalotto/Bauru at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
