There was a surprise result in Aldeota where fourteenth ranked SKY/Basquete (7-18) beat higher ranked Brasilia (11-15) 96-84 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by SKY/Basquete. Brasilia was better in third quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when SKY/Basquete won last quarter 30-20. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Brasilia's 34. Fernando Fischer (190-81) scored 27 points to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Jeferson Froehlich (193-91) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. International Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80, agency: Interperformances) responded with 20 points and the former international Lucas Cipolini (206-86, college: BYU-Hawaii) scored 17 points. Five SKY/Basquete and four Brasilia players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SKY/Basquete moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Uberlandia. Loser Brasilia keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. SKY/Basquete will face higher ranked Macae (#12) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
