Regular Season Round 24: Lille - Monaco 59-69

Date: March 13, 2015
Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Lille Metropole (10-15) was defeated at home by second ranked Monaco (18-6) 69-59 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Monaco. Lille Metropole managed to win second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Monaco held Lille Metropole to an opponent 23.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Quincy Taylor (195-82, college: UAB) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 4 assists and guard Hugo Dumortier (196-93) who added 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Monaco's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Burkinabe Jean-Victor Traore (204-85) with 17 points and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Monaco have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hyeres-Toulon. Loser Lille Metropole keeps the fourteenth place with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
