An interesting game took place in Warszawa where higher ranked Legia (14-10) was upset on its own court by ninth ranked GTK Gliwice (10-14) 86-80 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-80. GTK Gliwice made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. GTK Gliwice outrebounded Legia 36-23 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Legia was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Artur Donigiewicz (190-84) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Tomasz Wrobel (186-85) who added 20 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. Five GTK Gliwice players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Mateusz Bierwagen (195-88, agency: Promotex) with 27 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Lukasz Wilczek (190-86) scored 9 points and 8 assists. Legia's coach Piotr Bakun rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted GTK Gliwice maintains ninth position with 10-14 record. Legia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. GTK Gliwice will face league's second-placed Sokol Lancut at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Legia will play against Astoria Bydg. in Bydgoszcz and hope to win that game.
