Regular Season Round 24: Orchy - Maurienne 82-76
Date: March 14, 2015
Very expected game in Orchies where 16th ranked Aix-Maurienne (7-17) was defeated by seventh ranked Orchesien BC (14-10) 82-76 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of Jared Newson (205-84, college: Tenn-Martin) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 8 rebounds and Chris Daniels (200-82, college: Georgia) who added 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Orchesien BC players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Markel Humphrey (198-86, college: Marshall, agency: Three Eye Sports) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Chris Dowe (193-91, college: Bellarmine) scored 16 points. Orchesien BC moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Denain. Loser Aix-Maurienne keeps the sixteenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Souffel. Orchesien BC will meet higher ranked Olympique Antibes (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Aix-Maurienne will play against ALM Evreux (#10) and hope to secure a win.
